I keep two kinds of notebooks here. One is for research — things I find interesting in machine learning and dynamical systems, written out until I actually understand them. The other is for cinema — reviews, longer impressions of movements and directors, and, eventually, my own work.

Different subjects, the same impulse: to look closely at something and try to say what is really going on.
